Chaltron Systems, Inc. is proud to work with VorTek Instruments.  VorTek Instruments' precision flowmeters for liquid, gas and steam are widely used in commercial, industrial and municipal applications. Established in 1995, VorTek offers practical flow measurement solutions through innovative use of technology.

VorTek Instruments' Pro-V multivariable flowmeters utilize three primary sensing elements - a vortex shedding velocity sensor, an RTD temperature sensor, and a solid-state pressure transducer - to measure the mass flow rate of gases, liquids and steam.  Because the Pro-V flowmeters measure all of these parameters in a single location, they deliver a more accurate process measurement than systems that use external process measurements to calculate mass flow.

Pro-V flowmeters also simplify system complexity and help reduce initial equipment cost, installation cost and maintenance costs by delivering multiple measurements with a single installed device.

Multivariable meters provide a direct reading of mass flow rate from a single entry point in the process line and deliver analog and digital outputs of five process variables:  mass flow rate, volumetric flow, temperature, pressure, and fluid density.

VorTek Instruments  Pro-Vâ„¢ Model M23

Insertion vortex meters measure flow by detecting the local velocity at a strategically located position within the pipe. Our Pro-Vâ„¢ Model M23 detects the frequency at which vortices are shed from the bluff body located within the sensor head and then converts this to a volumetric flow in the electronics. The Pro-Vâ„¢ Model M23 also uses the local velocity, along with other parameters, such as fluid type, pipe size and Reynolds number to calculate the average pipe velocity, and consequently, the volumetric flow rate.
